Match report A depleted BCC suffered a rare home loss to Asps on Saturday. Missing half the regular team, the club would like to thank those whom stepped in and might be a bit stiff next week at work, thankyou!! Losing the toss BCC batted first and were in trouble again at 20/3 off 10 overs against a vocal Asps side. Bateman and Ruskin muted the visitors with a patient century stand before Ruskin went for 34. Bateman carried his bat for. 98 not out and some late blows took BCC to 189/6.
Asps started their innings off fast and raced to 59/0 off 10 overs. With the game going away from them, Ruskin turned to former Asps star player Potter and his spin partner Bateman to stop the runs and take the wickets. They both awnsered the call as Potter 1/26 and Bateman 2/40 reduced the rate to under 4 an over after 33 overs. This was as good as it got though as some lusty late hitting dragging Asps over the line with 12 balls to spare, their opener carrying his bat with half century. 2 games 2 losses for BCC. So far we have not seen any difference from div 3 cricket, we need to get back to winning ways next week away at Farnham.
