Potter Street 1 Xl v Bengeo Cricket Club Bengeo CC 1st XI on Sat 21 Jun 2014 at 13.30
Bengeo Cricket Club Won 113 runs

Match report Week 8 and it saw the top,2 meet at PS. Bengeo cc 6 wins from 7. Ps 5 from 7. Bengeo turned up missing 3 players who were at a wedding. Micky Walker led the side and won the toss and decided to bat first on a wicket that resembled a ploughed field in early October!!! With this in mind, Baker was promoted to 1 with classy left hander Lee Robinson 2. These two took Bengeo to 44/1 after 11 before Baker was well caught close in. Rohan Patel walked into the crease and his chirp more than his quick fire 41 wound the oppo up. At one point Patel took his guard 6 foot from the stumps and deposited the bowler into old Harlow!!! By this point, Robinson and Patel had taken Bengeo past 100 off 23 overs and you could sense PS were getting annoyed. When Patel was caught, club legend Graves walked in and made an elegant 38 as he and Robinson took Bengeo past 150 off 33 overs. Robinson had moved into the 90s , he punished anything down the leg side and hit any wayward bowling for 6 or 4. Let's not forget that in Robinson's previous 4 games he has hit 184 110 93* 66 and now 97 when he was bowled with a shooter just 3 short of a fantastic ton. Robinson now has 550 runs in 5 games and not even half way through the season yet!! His freak dismissal bought in Potter, who is getting use to his new role in this team. Coming in to bat with 10 left trying to get another ton with the powerful middle order.Graves and Potter set about doing this when Graves was caught off a clear bum ball, to save any argument graves just walked off in a class act of sportsmanship, he must of new what Bengeo had left in the tank!!!! Potter hit a quick fire 41 no with RJ Grey 12 no , in between this C.Walker went for a duck. Potter smashed 17 off the last over as Bengeo made 274 which was more than enough on that wicket!!!!
After tea Mark Guy bowled Bengeo to victory taking 5/50 in 10 overs. Ripping out the top and middle order all the hard work was done and PS were well behind the rate. Supported well by graves, and Potter it left Grey and Adamson to take the last 3 wickets as Bengeo won by over 100 runs for the 4 the time this season. Nearly half way through the season and Bengeo 43 points clear, a batsman on course to pass 1000 league runs and a top and middle order who score at a fast pace and look in great nick. Backed up by a solid bowling unit where 6 bowlers have taken 3 or more wickets in a game and fielders that don't give second chances!! Next up for Bengeo is Essendon, another derby game that has a spicy history with it!!
