Match report Bengeo c.c somehow, someway managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat on a baking hot saturday afternoon. The inform Mark Potter 74* not out guided Bengeo home, putting on an unbeaten 64 with Phil underdown who made 6*, Bengeo recovering from 20-4 then 66-6 to make 130-6.
After winning the toss and deciding to field first in 30c plus heat Braughing got off to a flyer, racing past 50 after 11 overs, Dowling taking the only wicket. The game swung Bengeo's way when Nix 2-26 and Guy 1-25 strangled the Braughing innings, after being 52-1 off 11 they found themselves 101-6 off 31. The pressure from these two bowlers causing two run outs as Bengeo took control. Potter and Bateman came on and their spin bowling ripped through the tail as they took two wickets each so reduce Braughing to 129ao after 40 overs..

After a fine tea, Bengeo set out chasing down the small target. But after 10 overs Bengeo were in dire straights at 20-4!! Dellow 1, Seeley 1. Nix 8 and Ruskin 5 all falling cheaply. Potter and Bateman put on 30 to push Bengeo over the 50 mark after 21 overs. But the loss of Bateman for 10 with the score on 52 gave Braughing control. Craig Walker was out for a duck and Bengeo were all but beaten at 66-6 off 25 overs. But the inform Mark Potter, enjoying his finest season to date, and the ever reliable Phil Underdown put on a match winning partnership of 64, Underdown hitting 6* and Potter reaching 74*. These two cracking the last 64 runs off 13 overs as Potter let loose a barrage of cuts, coverdrives and some brave big hitting that troubled the nieghbours. Bengeo reaching 100 off 31 overs, Potter reaching another 50. Then with the game all but over the next 30 runs came in 5 overs as Bengeo reached the finishing line, just!!! a massive win that closes the gap on the top 4!!
