Bengeo Cricket Club Bengeo CC 1st XI v Little Hallingbury on Sat 12 Jun 2010 at 1:30
Bengeo Cricket Club Won 5 wickets

Match report An unbroken 5th wicket stand of 100 between Potter 63* and Ruskin 48* snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on saturday.
After agreeing to start early beacuse of the football, and with a few players missing due to holidays and social events it was another new look team taking the field.
Potter won the toss and choose to bowl first, hoping to restrict the visitors to 150-175. Ruskin and Nix bowled straight through to 20 overs taking a wicket each. And at drinks Lt H'bury were 77-2. After the short break, Potter bought himself on and 15 year old L.Adamson at the other end, it was Adamsons spell that turned out to be a key point in the match. With L.H'bury cruising to what could of been 250+, Adamson took 5 wickets for just 19 runs ripping apart the batting order. H'bury batsman had no awnser to the accuracy and swing, they went from 91-2 to 128-7. The pressure built up at the other end from Guy whose 10 overs went for just 10 runs!! H'bury ended up 152/ao. A truly great effort from the Bengeo boys..

After a fine tea! Bengeo started chipping away at the average score they'd been set. Seeley ran himself out for 1, and walker miscued a dubious high ball straight to the man at midwicket for 3, Bengeo now at 10-2 and under pressure!
The ever reliable Dellow got a shooter and was bowled for 5 and Underdown was out for a duck as Bengeo stumbled to 30-4 off 15 overs. Captain for the day Potter was joined at the crease by Nix, who made a fluent 16. These two ticked the score past 50 off 20 overs before Nix miscued a short ball. Now at 50-5, Bengeo's last real batsman walked out in the form of I.Ruskin. He and the inform Potter went about chasing the total down in targets, next up was the 100, and that came up in the 31st over when Ruskin hit a huge 6 into the houses!
By this time the h'bury players were starting lose control of the game, Ruskin was hitting boundaries and with the target down to 50 odd it was game on again. After a few tight overs Potter decided it was time to take on the slow bowler, knowing two big overs off him and the game was Bengeo's. The plan was worked to perfection as he and Ruskin hit 40 runs off 5 overs to all but seal the game. Potter bringing up his 50 and Ruskin moving into the 40's.
It was left to Potter to smash the winning runs and seal a great fightback victory for the promotion contenders, all this against a team who started the day 3rd. well done lads.
