Match report Bengeo suffered a first league defeat in almost a year on Saturday. After being asked to bat first on track that was below par to say the least. Bengeo top scorer lee Robinson was out first ball of the match 0. Sharp and Patel took Bengeo to 45/1 after 15 overs. Sharp seeing off the new ball and Patel in his unorthodox fashion trying to talk the bowlers into bad balls. Patel was bowled by a Yorker and soon after Sharp went too. 55/3 was soon 70/5 as Potter was adjudged caught behind and Graves was bowled by a ball that kept low.. Ruskin and Dellow fell cheaply , now 77/7 soon became 80/9 when Baker, Adamson both fell for ducks. That left Bateman 42 no and Micky Walker 9 to take Bengeo to 130 ao. Both batsman attacked the bowling on a pitch that had something for everyone.

After tea Bengeo knew they had to take 3/4 early wickets to get back in the game. Club legend Chris Graves took 2 wickets in his first over, 1st one was a brilliant catch close in from Robinson and then he out talked the number 3 and clean bowled him 6/2. 3 Caps plan was clearly to hit everything and after 5 overs it was 27/4 when Graves had another scalp thanks to a great catch close in again from Patel , then Ruskin got a ct and bowled and Bengeo were right back in this. 3 caps dug in and there number 5 started playing some attacking shots, soon it was 80/4 and that saw Bateman come on for a turn of spin. He got a wicket 2nd over back with a great catch on the rope from Adamson. Just the wicket they needed, With the game in the balance Graves managed to bowl a short ball that the dangerous number 5 miscues to Robinson at mid wicket but he dropped that chance and 3 caps knocked off the remaining 35 runs soon after. A first defeat for Bengeo and the league closes up at the top. A tough week ends with 2 wins from 3 games but still clear at the top. We entertain Abridge on Saturday and that will be another good game.
